In 1610 Galileo discovered four moons of Jupiter. Europa is the smallest of these moons, and is covered in ice. Galileo once went to a masked ball wearing a crown of the planet Jupiter surrounded by its moons.

Europa was awarded second prize in the 2010 Recital Music Doublebass Composition Competition, England.
